I'm
here in the wilderness, choking on sand
As my head throbs with the weight of their demands,
And my vision is clouded with a shining mirage
Of my life glimmering before me in a montage
Where all my faults are played out in unceasing clips
Despite the pleas cried out from these quivering lips,
“Give me eternal water for my soul. I'm still thirsty.
I crave the food of Your word. I'm still hungry.”
Turn this barren mess into a vibrant wood
That no man may doubt this is where You stood
As my head throbs with the weight of their demands,
And my vision is clouded with a shining mirage
Of my life glimmering before me in a montage
Where all my faults are played out in unceasing clips
Despite the pleas cried out from these quivering lips,
“Give me eternal water for my soul. I'm still thirsty.
I crave the food of Your word. I'm still hungry.”
Turn this barren mess into a vibrant wood
That no man may doubt this is where You stood
And
drew out water from the wind, hot and dry
To
give life to those who would be living, yet die.
Meet me in the desert, turn sand into manna lest
I remain ever as I was: bound, imprisoned, and unblest.
Meet me in the desert, turn sand into manna lest
I remain ever as I was: bound, imprisoned, and unblest.
